Bad breath, known as halitosis, is a common problem that many patients face. It can often be an embarrassing condition to deal with, which is why our caring dentists are here to help. What Causes Halitosis?

There are multiple common causes of bad breath, including:

  • Dry Mouth: Dry mouth occurs when the salivary glands in the mouth do not produce enough saliva. Saliva helps remove any particles that cause bad breath. Dry mouth may be caused by a lack of hydration or certain medications.
  • Gum Disease: Periodontitis, or gum disease, is caused by a buildup of bacteria on and around the gums.
