Options to Treat Missing Teeth

Do you have one or more missing permanent teeth? Are you looking for long-lasting restorative solutions for your smile? Contact West Ashley Family Dentistry for restorative dental care today. Dr. Agatha Lynn and Dr. James Dickert provide comprehensive treatment options to replace missing teeth in their Charleston, SC office. Replacing missing teeth not only improves the look of your smile but can also prevent future problems including tooth and gum decay, overcrowded teeth, and further bone loss.

Restorative Treatments for Missing Teeth

For patients with single, multiple, or even whole arches of missing teeth, we can provide:

  • Dental Implants: Tooth implants are durable posts that are surgically inserted into the jaw bone. Over a period of about 3 to 6 months, the implant posts fuse with the bone and heal for a stable end-result. Once the implants are healed, they may be used to attach a dental bridge or denture permanently.
  • Dental Bridges: Our office recommends dental bridges for patients who are missing consecutive teeth. Traditional bridges are secured in the mouth by adjacent natural teeth that are capped off with dental crowns. Dental implants can provide even more stability to secure a dental bridge. Securing multiple dental prosthetics with strategically placed dental implants ensures that they last for many years to come,
  • Dentures: Patients can restore rows or arches of missing teeth with partial or full dentures. Traditional dentures may require messy adhesives or slip around the mouth. More tradtional options may also irritate the gums. Alternatively, prosthetics that replace rows or arches of lost teeth can be secured comfortably with dental implants. Implant-supported dentures allow patients to bite and chew with ease and enjoy the foods they love.
